Project 52: Week 25

We are LOVING this weather! This week we were able to spend time with some awesome friends at Coolidge Park. The boys loved playing in the field. We were even able to get in our first carousel ride of the season before we left. My oldest is obsessed with the carousel and has to ride on the zebra every time. We love Chattanooga and are so thankful for all the friends we are making here.

We had fun enjoying the weather this week. My husband decided that it was time to get the boys out golfing. My oldest loved running after golf balls and my youngest loved hitting golf balls. My husband also decided to get us more chickens. I wasn’t super excited about this but the boys love them. We kept them in our laundry room for a few days and the boys would run in there first thing in the mornings to check on them. I love seeing how excited they get about little things.

My husband decided that we should spend Saturday spreading new gravel in our driveway. I found about a million reasons why I needed to be doing other things so he ended up doing most of the work. It was still fun getting to spend the day outside in the warm weather with my boys..and be able to watch my husband shovel.

We loved the warmer weather this weekend! My husband got out the lawnmower and the boys were scrambling to get turns. My youngest is getting big enough to start fighting over his own time with dad. This leaves my poor husband exhausted. Every time he does anything he has two little boys screaming for their turn to do it with him. I’m so thankful that he is such a good dad to our two sweet boys.

My boys have started taking a nap together…and by together, I mean each of them are on a queen size mattress of their own next to each other. Whatever works though, right? I love that they are learning to fall asleep next to each other. It’s a little difficult because someone always seems to be waking someone up but I’m hoping it pays off down the road. Of course I had to get some shots of their little feet too. I’m slightly obsessed with their cute little toes.

I’ve always wanted my boys to have long, floppy hair. My husband was cutting his hair and asked if he could give our oldest son a buzz cut. I completely surprised him by telling him to go for it. It took a lot of bribing to get Corbin on board but I actually think it turned out cute. He looks even more like his dad now! He does not enjoy having his mom take his picture so I had to put a movie on to get him to sit still for these. Normally he is running all over the place and looking every where but in the direction of the camera.

My sister-in-law and brother-in-law live in Florida so we decided to drive down there and spend the New Year’s with them. While we were there our little guy turned one! The weather was gorgeous so we spent his first birthday at the beach. He LOVED it! I’m so thankful for the gift he is to our family. I can’t believe how fast a year can go.

My oldest son is not as into our Christmas tree as I thought he would be. He is crazy about his dad though. I was able to turn all the lights off in the house and get some shots of him with his dad in front of the tree. He was happy to stand there and look at the tree because he was able to talk to his dad while doing it. It is so precious to me to watch the relationship these two have with each other. My husband is such a great dad and I’m so thankful for his example to our little boys.

Every year we go to a tree farm and cut down our Christmas tree. This year was special because it was Lawson’s first time picking out a tree. I think he preferred just sitting in the grass and trying to eat dirt, but at least it was special to me. I was even able to hand the camera to my husband and sneak in a picture with my little guys.

I’m a little late with this weeks post. Things have been getting crazy in our house with my littlest crawling. He’s getting into EVERYTHING. His older brother was extremely easy as a baby and was a pretty slow crawler. Lawson is quick though! He’s definitely giving me my workout.

We were also able to celebrate my husband’s birthday this week. He’s a wonderful dad and I love watching him play with our boys! My oldest is pretty much obsessed with him and my youngest is starting to follow his big brother’s lead. He’s realizing how fun daddy can be.
